Return users email address via API

Reported by Martin Pilkington | August 9th, 2008 @ 12:43 PM

At the moment I'm having to go through some funky code to figure out who the hell is the current logged in user (once I have projects I do a query for 'responsible:me' and 'reportedby:me' and get the user id from there.

I've just realised that an easier way would be to just match the email that the user is using to log in to a user when I download them all. Unfortunately I've now realised that I can't do that as the email address isn't returned via the API.

Now I understand that users/X.xml is accessible from anywhere, but it would be very useful if emails could be returned in the API for members of projects that you can access with your login.

At the very least a users/me.xml would be useful as an alias to the user using the current login, there just needs to be an easy way to get the ID of a user when logging in via the API.
