Angled brackets don't work

I seems that angled brackets are allowed in the body/comment section of Lighthouse. If I try to submit something like an HTML tag in the body it doesn't get displayed at all. If I use the HTML entity for opening a tag then it appears to get deleted and the closing tag then gets seen as a block quote line (at least doing it via the API does).
It means that things like OS X crash logs won't display correctly when pasted into Lighthouse. Is there anyway to enable this and convert all greater than symbols in LH to the HTML entity and retaining the entity if entered directly via the API (I'm not typing either as I'm not sure what effect they'll have on the body of this)
