Project dropdown seems redundant

Wondering if its useful to provide a dropdown when there are links below it that do the same thing plus provide ticket counts, which makes the list below more valuable.

The one thing that I saw useful in the dropdown was the 'Add new project' option, but that is being displayed in the sub-navigation. The list is much more useful, would advocate removing the dropdown from the page since it's adding unnecessary noise.

Inside the tickets though, the project navigation is not present, its replaces with people viewing the ticket, and you only have the drop down.
In a sense, the dropdown is the only consistency for navigating through projects, so we're looking at a either or or replace to dropdown in deeper levels
I too use the subnav box over the drop down when I am in the root of my account.

Yeah, I noticed that. However, if you take for example... how Basecamp does it... you only see the dropdown when you're within the scope of a single project so that there is a quick way to jump to a different project without needing to navigate back to the dashboard view. I think this is sane approach and would allow the dropdown to go away on the Dashboard pages.
This relates somewhat with ticket #376. Might be worth having your UI person tackle these concerns together. :-)

This one looks like it could be closed, I just wish there was an easier way to switch between projects. I'll open up a new ticket for that.
