Reported by Justin Palmer | August 9th, 2007 @ 02:36 PM

We should allow inline images mimicking textile's !imgsrc! support.

can you set a restraint on the max size? i know lighthouse has a lot of smart users, but people always find a way to break the UI with inline images and their lazyness to resize them

That's really not too easy... if they're external there's no way to know what size it is. I may just download everything external and start thumbnailing images. What's a good width to set as a max?

Seems like you're trying to solve a problem before it's a problem. People can edit their posts if they need to fix it... and downloading images that are inline seems like extra work for you guys.

If I were you, just let people put images inline and let them be responsible for not throwing off the design. In most situations, if it doest extend too wide, it's not going to be the end of the world as it'll be on just one ticket... and other people viewing the ticket could ask them to not do it again in the future.

indeed Robby, I tend to go a bit overkill there, guess its a habit from hacking up forum scripts back in the day (err 4 years ago?)...haha. People ALWAYS found a way to break the UI, I don't care how well it was coded.

    +1 please :)

If you paste an image URL into campfire, it automatically shows it in an IMG tag. I like this.

You could easily wrap these in a div with max-width=700px overflow:auto if you're worried about design.

Since most of the images that we post are via Skitch! now, we just end up pasting the embed html they provide. This has gotten us around the problem enough for the meantime.
