The clock icon isn't obvious
Reported by Robby Russell | September 25th, 2007 @ 02:48 PM
In an effort to help you remove things that aren't obvious to the user... I'd like to point out the Dashboard tab in the navigation. While it's a cute icon and all, it might be useful to replace it with the word, "Dashboard" and/or add this text next to the icon in the tab.
As a good rule of thumb, Icons on their own should be discouraged, especially when it's a custom graphic that people aren't already familiar with.

I think it's supposed to be a speedometer or something evocative of "dashboard". But I agree, it doesn't work.

Speedometers usually go from about 8 to 4, that icon is pointing to around 5:30. Also, the markings are wrong for a speedometer (a mark at 6'oclock?). We had a discussion for about 20 minutes the other day trying to figure out what it is.

Perhaps it's a scale? So you can weigh the status of the project? ;-)
