searching responsible:'username (at domainname)' broken

I have tickets assigned to users who haven't given themselves a first name. Lighthouse shows them as assigned to a prettified version of their email address: "username (at domainname)". Trying to search for them returns 0 results.

    It would be nice to be able search on: responible:'username@domainname.tld'

    David: I just committed a change that sets User#name to the sanitized email address. It used to be dynamic, before. This should be deployed tonight or over the weekend.

    George: I'm finishing up a transition to a new search indexer (sphinx), so adding user emails for responsible and creator will be easy.

    Hi Rick - great - thank you for the attention.

    I'm still not able to search on email for 'reported_by' (I've managed to cajole all my 'resposible' parties into defining a first name, and thus can't test 'responsible'). Let's make sure it's not user-error on my part:

    (Given the address username@domainname.tld) I've try searching for: - reported_by:username (at domainname) - reported_by:"username (at domainname)" - reported_by:username - reported_by:username@domainname - reported_by:username@domainname.tld - reported_by:username#domainname

    Which, if any, of those forms are you expecting to be supported? Or am I just totally off-base? Would this fix only work for 'responsible'?
