GitNub fails with alternate Ruby install location

I have ruby install in /opt/local. Using the RubyCocoa installer only supports the system Ruby. Compiling RubyCocoa 13.2 from the tarball fails. This is all on 10.5.4. End result? GitNub fails to launch:
