Error on launch - "Couldn't find a git repository"

"Couldn't find a git repository

Make sure you launch GitNub with the nub command line tool from a valid git repository."

This is the error message I get after I try to launch the gitnub.app. It tels me nothing sins I'm not that familiar with git.

I followed the instructions on github.com https://github.com/Caged/gitnub/wiki/Installing-or-Building-GitNub.
